the fanciest of tees

DSC08490
I will take just about any excuse to wear a tee to school, so I was pretty pumped that this month's Third Thursday Threads (HOW IS IT THE THIRD THURSDAY ALREADY) challenge was dressing up a tee. Thanks to the awesome credit earning program at Everlane , I had a few great options to choose from** but I ended up going with the navy because I wanted to wear it with my new scarf I received from Surfdome - hello, polka dots and tassles. I didn't purposely start to put together a whole blue outfit but it somehow worked out! Now if only I had some blue heels...like these ;)

** I just wanted to say again that I don't wear my Everlane tees on here just to earn the credits (I receive a $20 credit if you sign up through my link and make a purchase). I truly love these tees, and would wear them all the time even if I didn't have a blog. I will never suggest or wear something that I wouldn't actually spend my own money on.

they can't put anything on the internet that isn't true

DSC03125
For those of you who don't know anyone who has ever applied to medical school, let me tell you - all applicants are crazy. The whole process is nerve-wrecking and terrifying and exciting and awful all at once. To compound all of this, there's a website where all of us crazies can get together and discuss the crazy. The student doc forums can either help you prepare for the process, or make you go completely mad.

Anyway, I was reading the forum for my school yesterday and about passed out when one of the kids on there said we had 14 days to get our deposits in to secure our spots. I was certain it was 30 days! OMG I'M NOT GOING TO GET TO GO TO SCHOOL, WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE HOW COULD I MESS THIS UP.

Turns out we do have 30 days. Don't trust everything you read on the internet.

uuuh...bonjour!

State of Blue

...and that's all I'm going to say about that. I can't vote (I'm a registered felon on parole. Kidding! I'm not a citizen) but I hope you exercised your right to vote, not matter what side you fall on.

On a different note, I won Story of My Life's scarf giveaway and I need your help deciding which one to get (as if I need another scarf...yes, I do). I'm torn between this grey one, this paisley one, and this red one. Which one is your favorite?

Holes in my Closet: Black Cardigan

DSC09461
I've been going through and reorganizing my closet lately, and it has led me to evaluate what clothes I wear a lot, and which ones I don't. I wear cardigans and blazers all the time, so I also noticed what I'm lacking in those areas. I've been meaning to get a black cardigan for a while, but most that I find are too short on me. I stopped by at Old Navy this weekend to see if I could find a certain dress, and found this cardigan instead. With a 30% off coupon, it only cost me $13. It's not an investment piece in price, but it is something my closet was lacking.

In a few days for this month's Budgeting Bloggers I'll talk about a few other holes in my closet I'm hoping to fill in the coming months.
